A MOTHER'S TEARS
When you came into this world,
and I held you in my arms,
there were tears in my eyes,
the joy of holding you,
My flesh, and my blood.
When you smiled for the first time,
My elation knew no bounds,
the first time you laughed,
I knew I’d never heard a more beautiful sound than that.
And the first time you called out to me,
everything else ceased to exist at that moment,
I could give anything to relive it!
When you took your first steps,
nothing can describe the excitement I felt.
When you first showed signs of love and affection, a hug and a kiss,
I wanted nothing more than that from you.
And when everyone said how adorable you were,
I can’t express the joy and pride I felt to be your mother.
And then you were gone,
the light of my life was no longer there,
and the darkness made its presence felt.
When the searing pain of losing you finally hit me,
life became nothing but broken pieces I could never put back together,
the world became a cruel place to live in,
But to know that you are in a better place gives me a ray of hope.
When you left this world,
I was holding you in my arms,
there were tears in my eyes,
the agony of being separated from you,
my flesh, and my blood.

This is very emotional. Very, very emotional. As I said to you, I like the way you do not intentionally try to match / rhyme the ends. You disallow those factors from hindering your thoughts and your deepest feelings.
Imagine this: A soothing instrumental track with these effective words not sung but recited. That's how I imagined it. And, it was... very tearful.
